Be aware of what's up there!

Venus Appeal message takes to the skies!...

The launch of the Venus Appeal gynaecological awareness week was marked by the release of 1,000 balloons from St Albert Square, in front of the Manchester Town Hall building at 1:30pm on 18th September 2006.

The spectacular release was watched by plenty of Manchester's lunch-time revellers and provided a good opportunity for Venus Appeal team members to hand out leaflets and raise awareness of gynaecological cancers.

Each of the thousand balloons were tagged with a Venus Appeal card, bearing the Venus logo, our "be aware" message and our website address. If you found one of our purple balloons, please let us know via the feedback section of this site!

All in all, the day was a success - but don't take our word for it, check out some of the pictures below!
